Twilight Comes To An End...FINALLY

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone. "- Rod Serling
In the sixties we were introduced to the iconic, psychological thriller series, The Twilight Zone. In the 21st century, we were seduced by the likes of Edward Cullen in the vampire-themed romance novels, The Twilight Saga. Now, I am going to try to break this down into the most objective way possible. The reason I mention the juxtaposition between these two anthologies may seem precarious, yet I assure you they intertwine.
Aside from the obvious similarity in title, the Twilight Zone somehow links itself into The Twilight Series because its astonishing amount of popularity despite its pure stupidity. The success of this franchise is unfathomable. The Twilight movies have made over $1.07 billion domestically and $1.44 billion overseas. So I think its safe to say...we have entered the Twilight Zone of our generation.
The plot goes as follows: girl meets boy, boy turns girl into vampire, they fight with some werewolves and they have a baby, that is half human and half vampire. This happens to be the extent of the story. Innovative? I think not. Original? N-O.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are intriguing to watch on screen, simply because they are attractive. With poor acting, direction and writing, the entire "saga" seems staged and fake, like some drawn out Gothic soap opera. It's cognizant of someone telling you that 1 +1=3, the equation just does not add up. Which is why I am shamelessly admitting I am ecstatic for this phenomena to be subtracted from the pop culture radar.
P.S.-PLEASE do not ever confuse the incompetence of Twilight for the greatness of Harry Potter.
LEGIT.
